Alumni
Hello RPC Alumni!
"[Jesus Christ] is the living stone, rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him; set yourselves close to him so that you too . . . may be living stones making a spiritual house" (1 Peter: 3-5).
A key goal for Redeemer Pacific College is to become recognized as one of North America's top 5 orthodox Catholic Colleges in the first quarter of this century. Our strategic plan calls for the College to develop "a public reputation for fidelity to Scripture, Sacred Tradition and to the Magisterium."
The College is moving toward that goal. The "Catholic Core" program is now firmly in place, along with upper levels in theology and philosophy-a curriculum that our mentors at Franciscan University have described as "perfect" for our mission of developing dynamic Catholic leadership. In addition, we now have a Chaplain on campus, allowing for a regular schedule of daily Mass, confessions, and spiritual direction at RPC!
The academic contribution of RPC to the Trinity Western University undergraduate program has recently been recognized with the approval of a Catholic Studies Minor in the Christianity and Culture program. Along with this minor has come the development of a Catholic Teacher Education Program (CTEP) in cooperation with TWU's School of Education. As Redeemer Pacific College continues to grow and develop we are looking forward with joyful anticipation to all that God has in store for us in the years to come.
As an RPC/TWU graduate, you are one of the "living stones" that Jesus is using as He builds something new (Isaiah 43:19) in the world of higher education. I urge you to continue to stay "close to him" and to stay close to the "spiritual house" He is constructing here at Redeemer Pacific College as a part of His Church.
We would love to hear how you are doing, and what you have been up to since graduating from RPC and TWU. Right now our former students are working and studying all over North America and the world.
And if you would like to hear more about RPC as new initiatives unfold, including our plans for the new building and our tenth anniversary (September 2009), I invite you to update your contact information. For more informal updates on what is happening at RPC, check out our college blog at http://cottagecollege.blogspot.com/ . We also have an alumni blog, which you can find at http://rpcollegealumni.blogspot.com/ .
We continue to trust in the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and we ask that you keep Redeemer Pacific College in your prayers. Ask the Lord to help all of us (including you!) to hear and obey His plans for our lives!
In Christ,
Tom Hamel
President, Redeemer Pacific College
